Illicit liquor worth Rs 20 lakh seized near Bijnor

Bijnor: More than 300 cartons of illicit Haryana-made liquor, valued at over Rs 20 lakh, were seized on Friday from a truck on Noorpur-Haldaur Road.
Adarsh Tyagi, station officer, Haldaur, said, “We stopped a truck on Noorpur-Haldaur Road on Friday and chanced upon 330 cartons of illicit liquor being transported in it. Of the three people in the truck, two – Nanak Chand and Jagtar Singh – have been arrested.The third – Monty – managed to flee after firing at the cops. A case has been registered under IPC sections 420, 307 and 7/72 and the search is on to find Monty.”
